You always must be sure that this is a right time to throw a joke. There are situations in the team when making a joke doesn’t really help to reduce the tension in the air. You get more respect from people in the office if you do well in your primary job first. So, make sure that your job is done properly before you are trying to make a joke about something in the office or about the job.

Remember they are paying you for your work and not for your jokes first. A person that does not concentrate on his job and only makes jokes won’t survive for long. Be careful and don’t get fired yourself.
